Welcome!
This is a blog that I have created to coincide with a class being taught during the Winter/Spring semester of the School of Learning and Discipleship at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church called Creation and the Classroom.
The purpose of this class is to shed light on a threat to our foundational Christian beliefs and equip parents, grandparents, and teens to challenge the prevailing ideas in our world. During the course of the class we will answer all sorts of questions, including but not limited to:
Are evolution and the Bible's account of creation reconcilable?
Is the Bible trustworthy?
How old is the earth?
Were Adam and Eve real people?
Is Noah's ark real?
Where did Cain get his wife?
Hasn't science disproved the Bible?
Why do two-thirds of young people in our churches walk away from the faith?
We will explore the curriculum in science classes in North Carolina related to evolutionary topics and explore the chronic bias towards belief in evolution that permeates today’s culture. Everywhere in our society we see implied or explicit references to evolutionary beliefs, which are misrepresented as irrefutable facts.
This class will provide both scientific and biblical answers to challenge these claims. Key terms will be defined, arguments summarized, and false ideas refuted.Each week materials will be added here from the previous class. News and links to items of interest will also appear.
